Every Thursday is theater night on Broadway (sometimes "Off"). That's something this ol' recession won't take away from me. And I have found a way to make sure I always get a lil bit of happiness even if Neil Simon is boring me to tears. Instead of buying just two tickets for my wife and myself, I buy four. It's just an extra $800, but well worth that little extra. This way, my wife and I can have an empty seat on either side of us. We can stretch out and enjoy the show.
This tip works great when booking airline seats too.

We all love surprises.
The economy is making things really hard. Each day is tougher than the next. Well, here's a way to get a lil bit of happiness in these dog days. Nothing beats a happy surprise in the middle of the day, right? And nothing beats reaching into your suit pocket and discovering some long lost cash. Wow! You feel rich again.
I recommend getting a bunch of twenty dollar bills and putting them in the pockets of all your suit jackets and sports coats. Just go to the bank with a few hundred dollar bills, change them for twenties, and plant them in all your pockets. Believe me, you'll forget they are there until one day when these crazy recession days have you down, you reach inside your pocket for a pen and Wow! I got twenty bucks.
Works for me every time.
